Dedicated to the art of storytelling through music, my life’s pursuit is to create compositions which glorify God by bringing a little beauty to this world. Born and raised in the Midwest of the United States of America, I grew up with a deep love of science and the natural world. Captivated by the beauty of this world, my first pursuit in life was to make a profession within the field of science (particularly ichthyology), but in my senior year of high school my priorities and passions shifted to the arts. Music had become a growing part in my life (nurtured largely by my mother’s love of music and the theatre) and it blossomed into what may only be said as my life’s calling. In the movie Chariots of Fire, the character Eric Liddell says this quote, “God made me fast. And when I run, I feel His pleasure”. This quote completely encapsulates my journey with music composition. Writing music has been such a fulfilling joy in my life through which my creativity has been able to soar uninhibited, and it is my humble honor to be able to share my joy of creation with you.

Regarding the music, I find myself drawn to both classical music and scores from visual media. With these acting as the inspiration behind my compositions, the genre in which I write is thematic neoclassical. Wanting to marry atmospheric harmonies with memorable melodies, it’s my intention to write music which tells stories. With a love of creative writing as well, the majority of my inspiration for my compositions come from my own stories which I am currently writing.

As I continue to grow in my craft, I have my eyes set on becoming a composer for visual media, orchestral concerts, commissions, as well as continuing to compose for my own stories. Music is such a beautiful gift, and I am excited to share my stories with you.

God bless,

Samuel M. Kitkowski
